Badoo Announces New Feature to Wipe Out Catfishing

London, Friday, March 25th 2016 - Badoo, the world’s largest dating network, announces today a new feature to eradicate catfishing called “Badoo Photo Verification.” The goal of this new feature is to make it more efficient for busy women to date online by ensuring that there’s only real people and real photos of them on the platform.

With 300 million users in over 190 countries, and 400,000 new people signing up for a Badoo experience each day, the company is the fastest growing dating platform in the world, and the first ever dating app to create this unique way of verifying real users in under one minute.

In order to get photo verified, users are asked to send a selfie with a unique pose. Badoo’s team of over 5,000 moderators across the globe check to make sure the user has followed the directions, and then gives the stamp of approval for verification. Badoo users can opt to only chat with verified users.
